Mawlana Abdur Rashid Social Welfare Association Builds Safe Shelter Homes for Rohingya Refugees in Cox’s Bazar

The Mawlana Abdur Rashid Social Welfare Association has successfully completed a vital Shelter Construction Project for Rohingya refugees living in the camps of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. This humanitarian initiative aims to provide safe, durable, and dignified living conditions for families who have been displaced from their homes due to conflict and persecution.

Cox’s Bazar hosts one of the world’s largest refugee settlements, where thousands of families struggle daily with overcrowded shelters, harsh weather, and limited resources. Understanding the urgent need for secure housing, the association stepped forward to build strong and weather-resistant shelters designed to protect vulnerable families from rain, heat, and environmental risks.

Through this project, multiple shelters were constructed using quality materials, ensuring stability, ventilation, and improved safety for the residents. These newly built homes offer Rohingya families a much-needed sense of security, privacy, and comfort—essentials that contribute greatly to their physical and emotional well-being.

Representatives of the Mawlana Abdur Rashid Social Welfare Association visited the camp during construction, working closely with community members, volunteers, and on-ground partners to ensure that the shelters meet humanitarian standards and the needs of the families who will live in them.

“We are committed to supporting the Rohingya community with sustainable and impactful assistance,” said project coordinators. “Shelter is a basic human right, and we are proud to help displaced families rebuild their lives with dignity and peace.”

This shelter initiative is part of the association’s wider commitment to serving vulnerable populations through health programs, food distribution, mosque construction, education aid, cataract surgery programs, and various community development activities across Bangladesh.
