Cataract Surgeries
5.05.2023

The Mawlana Abdur Rashid Social Welfare Association successfully conducted its Cataract Surgery Program 2024, offering free eye operations to underprivileged elderly men and women suffering from cataract-related vision loss. The program took place in a medical facility equipped to ensure high-quality surgical care and post-operative recovery.

Cataract is one of the leading causes of blindness in Bangladesh, especially among low-income individuals who cannot afford medical treatment. Understanding this urgent need, the association launched this humanitarian initiative to help restore eyesight and improve the quality of life for vulnerable patients.

During the program, a significant number of elderly beneficiaries—both men and women—received successful surgeries performed by experienced eye specialists. After the operations, the patients were kept under careful observation, receiving proper medical attention, eye protection, and post-surgery instructions. The images reflect the patients resting and recovering, many of whom expressed heartfelt gratitude for being given a second chance to regain their vision.

The initiative was supervised by trained volunteers and medical partners, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for all participants. The program not only addressed a critical health need but also brought hope and dignity to those who had been living with impaired vision for years.

The Mawlana Abdur Rashid Social Welfare Association remains committed to expanding its healthcare initiatives, including cataract surgeries, medical support, food distribution, orphan care, and community development projects. The organization extends sincere thanks to its donors, partners, and volunteers for making this life-changing program possible.
